Jennifer Dalton - Finca La Montana

With more than 20 years of horse riding experience, Jennifer spent most of her childhood with her grandfather, James A. Dalton, Champion Hall of Fame Cowboy. Jennifer specializes in jumping, riding training, she has had several students with recognition in national and international competitions. Jennifer and her husband Brian have been riding horses for years and taught classes in their equestrian center “Haras del Mar”, "Tierras Nativas" and “La Montana Equestrian Club in Playa del Coco.

What do you love about horse riding?

I have been riding since I was 5 years old and as a professional for more than 12 years. After trying out many other sports, the connection between horse and human is the most healthy and wonderful experience in the world.

Playa Cabuyal in the Papagyo is the best place for riding. It has all great aspects of Costa Rica, Farm land, Mountains, Estuary and Beach.

Fernando, Ana Victoria & Rodrigo Valverde - Sky Adventures

"They are two brothers and a sister, originating from Monteverde Costa Rica. In 1997, they opened the first park in Monteverde, offering a tour of suspension bridges called “Sky Walk”. The success led them to venture into a new tourist activity called “Sky Trek” that consisted of a system of zip line cables hanging from platform to platform above the forest canopy. In 2004, the company expanded into the tourist area of ""La Fortuna de San Carlos"" in Costa Rica, where their services of Sky Walk and Sky Trek is offered, as well as a new service called ""Sky Tram"", based on a cable car system. "

"The adrenaline, the adventures, the people and because it is an extraordinary spectacular experience! Our guests can get the best experiences in our park. The combination of the cable car and circuit of zip lines is one of the most thrilling, ultimate adventures. Chu - Diving

The refuge is a site located in the Pacific Ocean at 24 nautical miles from Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This site is known as Islas Murciélago (Bat Island) and is part of one of the most wonderful protected ecosystems in the country. Inspired by this wonderful place, and in honor of its millennial memory and its well-kept treasure is what has motivated the name of our small tour operation company. We started operations in 2011, initially offering our services in Playas del Coco but now the Refugio Tours is a tourism operator, dedicated to innovation and provision of services in the province of Guanacaste, taking advantage of the marine and terrestrial resources of the area.

What do you love about diving?

Diving is a wonderful thing in Costa Rica, due to its enormous marine wealth, the warmth of its waters and the level of environmental commitment that allows us to enjoy the underwater life enormously. Also because of the existing capacity in different areas of the country, on both coasts, it is favorable to practice diving and train new divers.

Roman Urbina - La Ruta

Roman is from Costa Rica and live in the capital, San Jose. He has been involved in adventure sports for more than 30 years. He has an open water swimming world record and was one of the pioneers of surfing in Costa Rica. He started a world famous mountain bike race called 'LA RUTA DE LOS CONQUISTADORES' and is considered the oldest mountain bike stage race and one of the hardest endurance events in the world. Because of 'LA RUTA DE LOS CONQUISTADORES' he was inducted in to the mountain bike hall of fame 2016. He is also the director of LA RUTA.

What do you love about cycling?

I love cycling because from the first time I rode a bike it represented freedom and exploration. I have been cycling since young and have taken this as my primary sport for the last 30 years. Cycling is a clean fast way to travel, it's also great way to watch nature. Cycling is demanding and teaches you true grit, but the best thing about cycling is that its fun, fast and wild but safe.

Costa Rica is full of great cycling trails roads and parks. Our race traverses the American continent from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. Along the way there are hundreds of trail and roads to practice this incredible sport. Cycling is unique in Costa Rica because it is the most biodiverse country on the planet, a Volcanic mountain chain that divides two oceans reaching heights of 3400 meters.

Justin Hague - El Tubo Surfing

Justin is a California native that has lived in Costa Rica for 14 years. He started 'El Tubo Surf' as a fun hobby in Dominical in 2005. He has always loved sharing the stoke he has for all the amazing adventures and beautiful places that Costa Rica offers. After 10 years of a beach front shop in Dominical, they transformed El Tubo Surf into a Surf camp at their family farm Jabillo Del Mar.

What do you love about surfing?

One of my favorite things that attracts me to Costa Rica is the warm water and amazing waves. To be able to surf everyday is truly a dream come true. Catching a good wave is one of the best feelings ever that never gets old.

Cabo Matapalo in the OSA Peninsula is my favorite place to get away relax and surf. Three amazing right point breaks with the clearest water. The wildlife there is from another world and it's amazing.

Jimmy Villegas - Pura Vida Tours

Jimmy has lived at the base of an active volcano all his life, exploring and enjoying the many beautiful rainforest trails of mountains of Arenal Volcano, waterfalls, caves and much more. He started his own tour company “Pura Vida Tours”, guiding people during his free time after high school. Since then, he has been helping visitors to create their very own experiences in Costa Rica.

What do you love about hiking?

The reason why hiking is my favorite activity is because of its very close contact with nature. The feeling of freedom, the outstanding views and the history behind each place that we visit. You can also combine adventure with nature, which gives our visitors some of the best experiences.

One of the hikes brings you up close and personal with the wonder and beauty of Arenal Volcano. The only costarican volcano with a perfect conical shape, through beautiful forest trails and finish on top of an old lava flow with amazing views of Lake Arenal and surroundings.

Rio celeste hike, also known as sky blue River, flows down from the mountain of Tenorio Volcano where you can see an amazing blue color resulting from the mixture of different minerals. Another impressive thing that you will find there is a primary premontane forest that hosts many different animals

Julio César Rivera Hernández - Costa Rica Vacationing

Since 2000, Julio has lived in the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos, at the foot of the Arenal Volcano, surrounded by primary and secondary forests. He started in 1987 as a volunteer in the National Parks of Costa Ric and two years later he started working as a park ranger where he managed to travel through all the National Parks of Costa Rica, working both in the protection of natural resources and as an instructor. He has been in the tourism industry for more than 30 years, hiking and being in contact with nature as well as showing their visitors the beauty of Costa Rica

What do you love about hiking?

Hiking is the best way to know nature. It is a change in routine for people, where they can connect and enjoy the charms of the forest, surrounding plants, animals and beautiful views. During walks we can take you to discover magical places where civilization has not managed to reach.

Discover the surroundings of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano and learn about the mysteries of an active volcano, edemas of a walk through wooded areas and enjoy two pristine waterfalls.

Explore places like Los Teñideros, which is a hidden place in the forest. Continue your adventure by walking through the Hanging Bridges of the Heliconias Reserve, where these bridges are located along a walk in the rainforest.
